  • Vredestein launches first all-season tyre for ultra-high-performance segment

Apollo Vredestein further strengthens its leading position in the all-season segment in Europe, with the launch of a brand new all-season tyre, the Vredestein Quatrac Pro, specially designed for cars such as the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Volvo XC90 and BMW 5-series. This is the first all-season tyre to be specially designed for the ultra-high performance (UHP) segment. The Quatrac Pro will be available in sizes from 17 to 21 inch. Vredestein’s Quatrac 5 will continue to serve as the all-season tyre in the smaller size range.

Benefiting from over 26 years of all-season experience the new Quatrac Pro offers the performance required by ultra-high performance cars. The new all-season tyre offers superp handling and short braking distances under both dry and wet circumstances and also eliminates the need to switch tyres from season to season for car owners in this UHP segment. The Quatrac Pro guarantees safety even with unexpected weather changes. The new model provides more than 10% better wet grip* and 5% better snow handling*. As with other Vredestein tyres, the Quatrac Pro bears the signature of Italdesign Giugiaro, ensuring a premium appearance that is every bit as impressive as its performance.

  • Award winning Wintrac Pro

Unveiled at the international exhibition The Tire Cologne in 2018, the Vredestein Wintrac Pro is an ultra-high performance winter tyre for the most powerful cars. Designed to respond to growing market demand in the 17-inch and higher ultra-high performance segment, the tyre offers excellent grip while cornering, short stopping distances on wet roads, and superior handling, even at high speeds. It is available in a large number of sizes in speed rating Y, making it appropriate for use at speeds of up to 300 km/h. In October 2018, leading German automobile magazine Auto Bild sportscars has awarded Vredestein’s 245/45 R18 Wintrac Pro tyre with the prestigious exemplary (vorbildlich) rating as it came out as the winner of their winter tyre test.

  • Innovation award winning: The Traxion Optimall VF tyre

The Traxion Optimall incorporates advanced Very High Flexion (VF) technology, with a curved design contour giving it a footprint that is up to 15% larger, at equal pressure, than other leading VF tyres and 25% more than leading Increased Flexion (IF) tyres currently on the market. This improves traction and fuel economy while reducing compaction and improving plant growth. Another major advantage of the Traxion Optimall is its suitability for use with central tyre inflation systems (CTIS). LAMMA, the UK's largest farm machinery, equipment and services show, provides a platform for exhibitors to introduce pioneering new products and services with the LAMMA Innovation Awards. Vredestein has won the gold medal in the “Driven Innovation” category with its Traxion Optimall tyre.

  • Vredestein introduces tyres for youngtimers

Vredestein has responded to the fast-increasing demands for youngtimers by expanding its portfolio of tyres for these vehicles. Specially designed for the legendary Audi Ur Quattro, Vredestein’s first youngtimer tyre will be launched in September 2018. Its development was assisted by none other than former Formula One champion and Vredestein ambassador Jochen Mass.

“There is more and more appreciation for cars from the 1970s, ‘80s and ‘90s – so called youngtimers,” says Jochen Mass. “They are also about to become classic cars, properly speaking. Unfortunately, manufacturers have already stopped producing original tyres for such vehicles. Owners are therefore forced to fit more modern tyres on their youngtimers, often with less than optimal results from an aesthetic point of view.”
